HVE Certification

0 %

Since the 2021 harvest, 85% (i.e. over 1,100 ha) of the cooperative’s vines have been certified.

HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale: High Environmental Value) certification ensures that the farming practices used throughout a farm preserve the natural ecosystem and reduce pressure on the environment (soil, water, biodiversity) to a minimum.

Adherence to this voluntary approach was initiated by the cooperative in order to promote good agro-ecological practices throughout the vineyards.

DELPHINE FERNANDEZ Cooperative winegrower, garons (gard, 30)

After studying communications and attending business school, Delphine Fernandez decided to take over the family business in 2017, at the age of 27.

She returned to her native region, the Gard, to learn the wine-growing trade and take over from her father and uncle.

Her estates : Jean-Christophe et La Figueirasse, are two family-run businesses that have been in operation for over 45 years. Their plots of land stretch from Bouillargues to Garons, covering almost 50 hectares, and include many different grape varieties.

Delphine is particularly sensitive about the issue of climate change, and is working towards obtaining environmental certifications to work in an environmentally-friendly way and to future-proof activities.

Young, dynamic and committed, Delphine was able to obtain High Environmental Value (HVE) and Terra Vitis certification in 2021!

In addition to these certifications, our young enthusiast has, for example, introduced sheep-grazing in her vineyards, a virtuous environmental, low impact practice which benefits the local ecosystem nature whilst being attractive to observe.

At the end of 2022, Delphine carried on with her entrepreneurial spirit and decided to plant aromatic and medicinal plants, which were already certified organic. In 2023/24, she will be able to start producing essential oils.

Implicated in the life of the cooperative, Delphine has continued to hold an elected position on the administrative board of the Vignerons Créateurs, acting as both spokesperson and contributor of ideas.

She is also involved in a committee of employees and winegrowers working on projects to optimise internal communication. This is part of the CSR Label Vignerons Engagés, obtained in 2022.

Delphine is a young winemaker with unmatched drive and determination, and she will no doubt continue to surprise us in the future!
